I look forward to Thursdays when I can publish thoughts on my spiritual journey and hear the thoughts of others on a weekly basis. It has become a space for an encouraging and fortifying community to come together. We welcome anyone who would like to join us!
This week, I am thinking about Advent, Christmas, shopping, decorating, sending out Christmas cards, making lesson plans, grading, holiday parties, keeping the house clean, cooking, blogging, reading, writing, exercising, getting together with family and friends, folding clothes, etc., etc.
Then I saw this on Wednesday night while I was searching for the right thing to write about today.
Take a DEEP breath. Breathe. Focus. Be Still. Be joyful. Be thankful. Give. Count blessings.
Speaking of joy; it was a JOY to meet Margaret Simon and Carol Varsalona IN PERSON at NCTE a week and a half ago. They've been part of Spiritual Journey Thursday for a long time, and together we've had many blogging/writing/reading/Tweeting/collaborative adventures. It was wonderful to jump right into conversations about what we care about and share our passions about students, books, writing, families, teaching, and our spiritual lives!
I don't want to believe that it's December. There always seems to be too much to do. I haven't written yet. The mass shooting (once again) in San Bernardino has me shaken. I had all intentions to write but in the midst of this terribly tragic world we live in, it feels like a blank effort.
ReplyDeleteWhat a thrill to meet you last week! Of course, I feel like we've been friends forever. Thanks for posting. I may (or may not) get something up today.
Forever friends, Margaret-that is what you, Holly and I are.
DeleteSo glad you're back in business (Lord's SJT business)! Thank you for sharing your right-on reflection and the December 2nd message that informed your post! ..."Ministry of Presence"--there's a new expression that gives me pause for thought. Thank you, too, for sharing the amazing rendition of Joy to the World by the Pentatonix; enjoyed them when they were contestants; wish that competition show were still televised... Likely no post from me this week. Have been writing Christmas messages to family and friends. God bless you.
ReplyDeleteBobbie, I agree with your thoughts about Holly's post. We are all fortunate to have come together.
DeleteHow wonderful for you three to meet in person like that. I'm jealous! Also glad you came back with Spiritual Journey Thursday.
ReplyDeleteMy post today is actually my friend's story but holds a very important lesson for anyone on a spiritual journey.
Violet, I am glad that you posted too. I will read that when I have a chance. For now, I want to get my Poetry Friday post up.
DeleteHolly, your post was filled with the spirit of joy. Thank you for starting my morning and ending my night with your words.
